A global space partnership for the Sustainable Development Goals

Lorant Czaran, Programme Officer, UNOOSA

Bringing the benefits of space to humankind

The core business of the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) is to promote international cooperation in the use of outer space to achieve the sustainable development goals. With its unique roles defined as: capacity-builder, global facilitator, and gateway to space; UNOOSA is focusing on SDG 17, Partnerships for the Goals, to leverage the capabilities of space-based and advanced geospatial data organizations.

Urgent action is needed to mobilize, redirect and unlock the transformation power of trillions of dollars of private resources to deliver on sustainable development objectives. In this regard, Lorant shares the UNOOSA proposal for a global partnership for SDGs.
